Today I had the pleasure of taking Vivian and Thomas to one of my favorite places in New York City. We started off at the Meat Packing District, worked our way to the Highline and finally ended our engagement photo session at the Chelsea Market. Nikki & Chris – “Old Hollywood” Wedding in New York City
November 7, 2009

Nikki and Chris were married at the landmarked Park Avenue Christian Church on the Upper East Side. The designers of this stately church were clearly influenced by the Gothic-styled La Sainte Chapelle in Paris, France as it shares a similar 70 foot spire.

The couple had an “Old Hollywood” inspired wedding. They along with their 20-plus bridal party and guests and were dressed de rigeur of this glamorous time period. Nikki wore a gorgeous white satin halter-neck gown with silver beading and a 3 foot long train. Her hair was styled into lush, film noir-style waves with a white silk flower and feather clip and she carried a bouquet of crimson red roses that had a dusting of silver glitter that shimmered by diamonds on the petals. While Chris wore a black, pin-striped suit which was paired with a white silk tie, white suspenders, and awesome black and white wing-tip shoes. Their bridesmaids wore long fitted black gowns with black satin gloves and long, draping strands of pearls. The groomsmen wore black 3-piece suits and black, pin-striped fedoras. Even the usherettes dressed the part, wearing short black dresses with red satin gloves. Their guests were stylishly dressed in full length tuxedos with tails and top hats, long elegant evening gowns and cocktail dresses in black and white, lots of pearls and sparkling diamond jewelry that were reminiscent of the days of Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth, Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Katharine Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Cary Grant, and Humphrey Bogart.

Nikki and Chris celebrated their wedding banquet on a Circle Line cruise that sailed around the New York harbor with breathtaking views of the New York skyline, Lady Liberty, the Brooklyn bridge, and the Manhattan bridge. After the party, the couple was whisked off to the Waldorf Astoria in a white vintage Rolls Royce Phantom.
Here a few images from that wonderful night. Enjoy!

December 3, 2009 – Interview with Watch Designer Peter Stas – Frederique Constant – Geneve

Today I was invited to photograph the latest collection of luxury watches by designer Peter Stas. The private event was held at the Brasserie Ruhlmann at Rockefeller Plaza, one day after the famous tree lighting ceremony. Below are some of my favorites from the session.
